Burlington Sound Barriers

For a Better Quality of Life

Burlington Sound Barrier Committee

The Burlington Sound Barrier Committee was formed in June 2006.  We are a grass roots neighborhood organization.  This is not the first attempt to acquire sound/noise barriers in Burlington along Route 128  There have been many Burlington residents before us that have tried to petition the state but were met with many road blocks and their efforts are to be commended.

It is the intent of this committee to petition the State for the funding and ultimately the construction of sound/noise barriers
The only way to accomplish this is through citizen activism.   We vow to keep our quest visible and loud!  This will be accomplished through Rallys and meetings, along with many letter's to the newspapers/media, and lobbying on the State House.

We have been fortunate to have the support of Representative Charles Murphy and his office, and the Burlington Board of Selectmen:  Gary Gianino, Al Fay, Sonia Rollins, Ralph Patuto & Walter Zenkin.

We are thankful to our Woburn counterparts.
We are working closely and both communities have proven to be stronger together in this fight.  We thank Mayor McLaughlin, Representatives Pat Natale & Jay Kaufman, Alderman Jim Dwyer, Darlene Mercer-Bruen, Joanna Gonsalves and Mike Raymond.
